The Seattle style of 43 has used both big and smaller DL. Mebane is pretty small for a NT. Liuget is actually quite large for a 3 technique.

If you look at the Seattle and various spin-offs of the same scheme, they tend to just focus on getting good players, regardless of what some people think of the prototype being.

Hankins is a big guy, but the real improvement is that he is a good player who knows how to use his hands and plays with leverage.
